One Support is looking for volunteers to act as befrienders to vulnerable One Support customers, undertaking regular visits or outings and to help address social isolation, loss of confidence and to build motivation.
One Support is looking for volunteers to act as befrienders to vulnerable One Support customers, undertaking regular visits or outings and to help address social isolation, loss of confidence and to build motivation. Befrienders will meet with the customer on a regular basis either for a chat in their home or to share a social activity, such as walking, attending museums, art galleries, cinema, etc. The activities will be agreed with the customer, Support Officer and volunteer beforehand. * Accompanying customers to appointments * Accompanying customers to social events and leisure and fitness facilities in the community as a befriender * Encouraging participation in hobbies and interests * Mentoring socially isolated individuals

Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Creative & Design, Gardening, Language Skills, Managing People, Photography
* A positive regard of vulnerable people * Understanding of diversity, confidentiality and boundaries * To be reliable and trustworthy * Health & Safety including lone working * Knowledge and experience of special interests e.g. cooking, arts, music, sport and fitness, languages, dancing, computers, pet care, DIY etc
