Chats Palace are looking for a volunteer to support The Palace Club, our free social club for people over 65 living in Hackney, we meet every Tuesday (10am - 13:00pm) The volunteer will be responsible for helping to set up refreshments, welcoming our club members, being present during the workshops/activities and generally supporting the delivery of the programme. The role will offer the opportunity to connect with the local community. You must be DBS checked and living in Hackney.
Chats Palace is looking for more volunteers to help support The Palace Club, our free social club for people over 65 living in Hackney, which takes place every Tuesday 10:00 am to 13:00pm. The Palace Club will return on September 17th 2024 and we'd like to appoint new volunteers in the lead up. Please do get in touch as soon as possible if this opportunity appeals to you. About the programme: The Palace Club is a free social programme designed to connect older people living in the borough with one another. As part of the club, members are offered a programme of arts and crafts, social, health and wellbeing activities, those taking part are provided with a free lunch. Volunteers are responsible for helping us to set up refreshments (tea, coffee, prep for lunches), welcoming, listening and chatting with our club members, being present during the workshops/activities, taking part and providing instructions/assistance where necessary, serving lunches and remaining after the club to support us with clearing the space. The role is very rewarding and offers the opportunity for someone to connect with their local community.. Activities include health and wellbeing, arts and crafts, and social - from Pilates, walking groups to singing workshops, this role has previously attracted volunteers who have experience or an interest in health and wellbeing, social care or arts and creativity.
