Cook team volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that guests receive nutritious and tasty meals. We will be providing meals for 5-7 people each evening. We are looking for people who will be able to help us with the following: Cooking: Preparing and cooking meals for guests according to the planned menu, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met. Meal planning: Working with shelter staff to create balanced and nutritious menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of the guests. Cook Team volunteers will be required from 6pm - 9pm. Ideally volunteers will be able to commit to a minimum of one evening a fortnight.

Ability to communicate and engage with people from a variety of backgrounds, including guests who may have recently been made homeless. Preparing a meal for 5-7 people following a meal plan agreed with the shelter staff, accommodating allergies and similar requirements. Initially meals will be prepared at home in advance but we will be looking to operate an on site kitchen during the season.
We provide all required training to perform the role (including food hygiene certification)
We ask that volunteers arrive for 6pm and leave at 9pm, though can be flexible where work or other start times may be earlier. Ideally we ask volunteers commit to one evening per fortnight between November and March.
