The Real Junk Food Project - Wednesday morning Chef @ The ETNA Centre in East Twickenham. This role would suit a trained chef, or a confident home cook who is keen to learn how to cater for larger numbers of people. You will joining a team of enthusiastic chefs who create low cost healthy meal for your community using food that would otherwise have gone to waste.
Would you like to be part of a team that helps to reduce food waste and provides healthy low cost food to your local community? The Real Junk Food Project are looking for a keen cook to join their kitchen teams at ETNA on Wednesday mornings. You will be joining a dynamic team that create healthy lunches for 70-90 guests per session, creating dishes from the food donations that arrive that morning. This is food that is rescued from the supermarkets and other local businesses that would otherwise have gone to waste. Our team of chefs aim to create a soup, two main courses (one vegetarian) and a dessert each session. You will get the chance to be creative, and will learn techniques of how to cook dishes in large quantities if you don't already have experience in catering. The core hours are 8-11:30 with an opportunity to stay and serve customers during our opening hours (11:30-13:30) if you would like to. Our community cafes operate on a Pay As You Feel Basis and are open to all members of our community.
