Site Support Volunteer
Marble Hill Playcentres
Site support volunteers help us manage and oversee ongoing improvements to our buildings, play structures and gardens, by meeting specific teams or projects on site.
For exactly 50 years, Marble Hill Adventure Playground and One O'Clock Club has provided children with a unique and exciting environment to play, create and interact, with our distinctive towering rope swings, zip wire and outdoor play equipment in the beautiful landscape of Marble Hill Park in Twickenham. The site includes three buildings dating from the 1970s, which we jointly maintain with English Heritage, grassed and paved areas for play, and of course a wide variety of wooden play structures and play equipment. The role of site support volunteers is highly flexible, helping to oversee site improvements of various kinds, whether gardening, building projects, or maintenance of the swings. You may wish to get hands-on yourself, or simply wield keys on behalf of the trustees when specific teams are meeting on site. You will meet our sociable team of playworkers, but can also enjoy a cup of tea during the quiet daytime hours and out of season, when we try to schedule the bigger pieces of work. The role suits short-term projects or long-term availability.

No previous experience is required but we would particularly like to hear from you if you have an interest in buildings, estates management, or project management.
MHPC is a much-loved local charity, highly visible within Marble Hill park. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference, by enabling continuous plans for improvements to be implemented in our fiftieth year. Examples of work range from simple repair and repainting of swings, to expansion of our sandpit, replacement of strip lights in our buildings, and new awnings, and the results are always noticed and appreciated by the hundreds of children and families who visit throughout the year. It's a chance to break from your usual routine, get to know staff at the Playcentres and in the wider park, and see a tangible result for the local community.
