As a Volunteer Cook or Volunteer Cook Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our community by preparing and serving fresh, nutritious soup and a homemade dessert. This monthly and/or weekly commitment helps us provide a vital service—a hot meal and a welcoming space—for local residents facing life's challenges. Your efforts will directly contribute to alleviating immediate stress and promoting a sense of belonging and support in our community.

Why these skills are required

Experience in cooking or food preparation is desirable. Ability to prepare a variety of soups including accommodating dietary restrictions Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices. Certification in food handling is a plus but not required Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously A genuine enthusiasm for cooking and a commitment to serving the community Ability to work well in a small team Respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own Be willing to follow the MCA objectives and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
