To provide residents in our homelessness services with opportunities to learn new skills, socialise, be active, reduce isolation and improve wellbeing and mental health.
To provide residents in our homelessness services with opportunities to learn new skills, socialise, be active, reduce isolation and improve wellbeing and mental health. We are looking for volunteers in various locations across Croydon. The Wellbeing & Activities Volunteer will: • Work with residents and staff to identify a regular activity that can be run or support existing activities that are already running. • Work with residents and staff to help prepare, run and pack away activities. • Encourage residents to take ownership of activities and support them to run activities themselves. • Create an environment where residents feel safe and comfortable to talk about their wellbeing in a relaxed environment. • Support the signposting of residents to existing services that might support their mental health and wellbeing. • Debrief with staff after an activity about the wellbeing of residents. • Keep an attendance list. • Complete an Evolve induction and any necessary training. • Support other staff as necessary. • Support the work of Evolve.

Art & Craft, IT Skills - Basic, Language Skills (Eg, French, German, Arabic Etc), Maths & Numeracy
The following skills, experience and qualities would be preferable, but they are not essential: • Experience of working with individuals with multiple needs and/or the health and social care settings • Experience of working in housing and or homelessness settings • You could have skills and experience of working with others that could include nutrition, cooking, barbering, boxing, exercise, yoga, meditation, alternative therapies, anger management, confidence building, art, crafts… We are open to your suggestions around what you have to offer.
As a volunteer with Evolve Housing + Support, you will be able to access: • Experience working within the charity sector • A full, site-specific induction • Ongoing supervision and support from Project Staff • Travel expenses within zones 1-6 (or as otherwise agreed) and lunch expenses if working over 4 hours per day
The role is flexible, but we suggest once a week or once a fortnight for around 2-3 hours, which might include prep time, activities, tidying up and debriefing with staff.
