Purpose of the Role Trustees of a Scouts group form the Trustee Board and are responsible for the governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction of the Group. They ensure the Group is safe, legally compliant, financially sustainable, and able to deliver high quality Scouting for young people. This is a voluntary role that plays a vital part in helping young people gain skills for life. ________________________________________

Skills & Experience (Desirable, Not Essential) You don’t need Scouting experience to be a Trustee. The following skills are helpful: • Interest in supporting young people and inclusive community activities. • Basic understanding of governance, charity administration, or committee work. • Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions. • Good communication and teamwork. • Fundraising, we are keen to have some more fundraising experience across the Trustee Board • Integrity, accountability, and willingness to uphold Scout values. Specialist backgrounds (e.g. fundraising, property management, ) are welcomed but not required. ________________________________________ Eligibility • Must be over 18. • Must complete the Scouts’ required trustee training (light touch e learning). • Must be eligible to act as a charity trustee (no unspent bankruptcy or disqualification). Will require a Disclsoure Barring Check to be carried out (free of charge and organised by the Group)
Helping young people gain skills for life and to keep this important community Charity compliant. We will have new Trustees join our welcoming and supportive group
6-8 Trustee Board meetings a year. Attendance at our Annual General Meeting. Research and development time as required.
