Oasis 360 UK - Volunteer Mentor
Oasis UK 360
As a volunteer mentor – and as such the trusted adult for your mentee - you will be someone whom the mentee can count on ‘to be there’ for them. You will meet them once a week for an hour and you will play a crucial role in supporting them to strengthen their existing relationships with teachers and parents whilst creating a new and trusted connection with you. You will be a consistent and reliable figure in a young person’s life that might otherwise be subject to a lot of change.
The purpose of the Volunteer 360 Youth Mentoring Programme is to work with young people who are at risk of exclusion by connecting them with a trusted adult through a formal, long-term mentoring programme. The aim of the programme is to provide the mentees, on a week-by-week basis, with support, guidance and encouragement in order to help them avoid being excluded, thus staying in the environment of mainstream school with access to educational opportunities for the benefit of their future.
