Friends of Moorfields Volunteers - Croydon
Friends of Moorfields
Friends of Moorfields volunteers provide emotional and physical support to patients attending their clinic appointments.
As a Friends of Moorfields volunteer, you will be at the front-line of providing emotional and physical support to patients with visual impairment and to ensure Moorfields provide an excellent service. Some of the tasks we will need you to complete could include leading and guiding patients around the clinics, providing advice and information about services with support from our ECLO, or to hand-hold anxious patients who will be having surgery on site. New activities are being added to the role regularly so more duties may be included once you have completed the recruitment process.

We are looking for calm, empathetic volunteers with good listening and communication skills.
Volunteering with us will not only give you the experience of being in a Hospital setting which is good for work/academic applications, but will also allow you to practice interpersonal skills and develop confidence. You will also feel a great sense of achievement from being able to know you have made a difference to patients needing support.
One 3-hour a week slot from Monday-Friday anytime after 8am-5pm ideally for 6 months.
