This is a role with the national charity of which we are a branch - the Woodcraft Folk. The Treasurer is a member of the charity Board and does the following: Oversee financial strategy and ensure strong financial governance. Support budgeting, financial planning, and risk management. Scrutinise management accounts and annual reports. Advise on charity financial regulations and best practices. Act as a key point of contact for financial queries from staff and volunteers. The person we are looking for must have a financial qualification or relevant training; an understanding of charity accounting & reporting; ability to explain financial matters to non-finance professionals; experience with governance and/or membership organisations (desirable).
This is an exciting opportunity to support a national youth group and will help develop skills in working with young people, social justice and the environment. The role requires someone to work co-operatively with volunteers of all ages and staff to support long-term planning.
