Our Grandmentors programme is a powerful opportunity to change lives by guiding young adults as they navigate life after care. By sharing their life experience, our Grandmentors, aged 50+ (or 35+ in Scotland and Greenwich), provide a vital link for young people, offering emotional support, practical advice, and a steady presence to help them build confidence and independence. Our Grandmentors come from all walks of life, bringing unique perspectives that help meet the diverse needs of each mentee. Our volunteers are trained to forge positive, trusting relationships that both support and empower young adults to discover their strengths and pursue their own goals. Grandmentors are a source of encouragement and challenge, helping mentees to unlock their potential and take charge of their futures. We provide training, ongoing support, and cover expenses for Grandmentors. No special skills or qualifications are required—just your life experience and a desire to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

We generally require you to have a heart that wants to see others grow, not necessarily transferable skills. We would love mentors to have time ( 1 hour a week ) for the young person they'll be matched with to support them towards their goals.
We train our volunteers and support them on the role. We also refund their expenses if any is expended whilst volunteering.
Regular role (weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
