The Roots & Wings Event, now in its second year, is a vibrant, community-led celebration that honours fathers and strengthens family bonds in Croydon. Organised by Hold It Down CIC, this event brings families and young people together, and we need passionate volunteers to make it a success. Volunteering with us allows you to make a direct impact in a community-driven initiative that empowers local families. You’ll be at the heart of an event that is shaping positive change in the lives of young people, particularly fathers and their children, by providing them with a meaningful experience that strengthens their relationships. By joining us, you’ll become part of something truly special. The Roots & Wings Event has grown in its second year and, as a volunteer, you’ll be integral to its continued success. Your involvement will be a chance to be part of a project that’s having a real and lasting impact, helping to reduce isolation and bring the community closer together. Not only will you be supporting a fantastic cause, but you’ll also develop valuable skills in event management, communication, and teamwork. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community engagement and learn from others who are passionate about making a difference. As a volunteer, you’ll be working alongside a dynamic, community-focused team, dedicated to creating a positive environment for everyone involved. You’ll be helping to create unforgettable memories for fathers and young people, while gaining a sense of pride from contributing to something that truly matters. While we are unable to cover additional out-of-pocket expenses, we hope that the food we provide will make the volunteer experience more comfortable and enjoyable. We are deeply appreciative of the time and effort our volunteers dedicate, and we aim to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone involved.
