Wellbeing Centre Volunteer
Princess Alice Hospice
We are looking for volunteers to support our Wellbeing Centre and welcome patients and carers.
The focus of our Wellbeing Centre is supporting people with life-limiting illnesses to live as fully and independently as possible. Our sessions help patients to build their confidence and gain control of their lives, as well as supporting them to manage their symptoms. We are also here for family members and friends as well as anyone else who might benefit from our expertise. As a Wellbeing Centre Volunteer, you will be responsible for welcoming patients to the Wellbeing Centre, providing support through listening, serving drinks, confirming appointments, and assisting with activities. You may also assist in moving patients around the Hospice, and ensure patients and carers return to reception at the end of each session. You will be a good listener, kind, friendly and have a genuine interest in other people. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular shift 9.45am – 12.15pm on Tuesdays or 1.15pm – 3.45pm on Wednesdays. Full training is provided to support you with your volunteering journey with us. Closing date for applications is 16 April, and informal interviews will be scheduled for 23 April. If you’re motivated by the idea of joining a caring community, where your time will make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
