Role Detail

Garden Plotter

Commonside Community Development Trust

Join the Garden Plotters and plant, grow and harvest your own food to enjoy with the community on Pollards!

Detailed Description

For volunteer gardeners with some skills or no skills, we have a food-growing plot and meet every Thursday at 1pm to take stock, do routine work and plan for the future. We are just about to hit peak growing season so we'd like to crank up the work we put in so that we can harvest more food at the end of it. We have raised beds that are suitable to sit at in a wheelchair or chair as well as a ground-level plot. We are gardening with a strong commitment to climate change, protecting and enhancing biodiversity, composting, water supply, heat waves and drought, and will include some permaculture techniques in our growing. If you can't manage a Thursday at 1pm please get in touch anyway as you may be able to assist at other times with routine jobs like weeding and watering.
