Support Real’s Advocacy team in delivering frontline services for disabled people in Tower Hamlets. This role combines practical casework assistance with administrative support, helping to ensure our records are accurate and our clients receive the best possible service. Advocacy & Advice Assistant Volunteer (Casework + Data Input) Key Duties: • Support the advocacy team with data entry into our client case management system. • Draft or summarise case notes and end-of-case reports (with training). • Help maintain accurate records and contact logs in line with GDPR and safeguarding policies. • Carry out light research tasks (e.g., signposting to local services or resources). Ideal For: Students studying law, sociology, social work, politics, or human rights. Also ideal for anyone seeking insight into frontline community advocacy or nonprofit operations. You’ll Develop: • Understanding of how advocacy services work • Legal and ethical data handling skills • Insight into social justice work at the local level

Essential skills: At least 3-6 months related study or work. Knowledge of the legal system in England and Wales. IT literate and well versed with Microsoft Office and Windows. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people and to liaise with other organisations. Ability to summarise enquiries into plain English and identifying key issues. Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to work in a busy environment with competing demands. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet and email. Ability to maintain existing computer-based and manual systems. Desired skills: Experience of database inputting (ideally with CRM systems like Salesforce). Experience in the voluntary sector and office environment.
