Community Action Youth Leader

As a Community Action Leader you can lead your own project, campaign, or youth-led session — from tackling big issues like mental health, racism, or online safety, to running fun, creative activities like talent shows, open mics, or workshops. You’ll work with youth centres and council staff to bring people together, raise awareness, and create change. This role is only open to young people aged 16 to 21.

Detailed Description

Passionate about making a difference? Want your voice to be heard? Aged 16 - 21? As a Community Action Leader you can lead your own project, campaign, or youth-led session — from tackling big issues like mental health, racism, or online safety, to running fun, creative activities like talent shows, open mics, or workshops. You’ll work with youth centres and council staff to bring people together, raise awareness, and create change. Similarly you can deliver an activity or event that brings people together e.g organising a talent show. What You’ll Do: • Design and lead your own social action project, event, or campaign • Take part in workshops with guest speakers and youth professionals • Shadow staff and see how change happens behind the scenes • Plan and deliver an activity or awareness event in your community • Speak up for young people and promote inclusion and community This role is only open to young people aged 16 to 21. Recruitment opening 3rd June 2025. Closing date 31st July.

You must be aged 16-21. An interest in youth work/ community action.

Time Commitment

You will volunteer for at least 3 hours per week (or more if you have the time!) on Tuesdays from 3pm - 6pm. We expect the programme to run from September for 12 weeks.
