We are seeking a kind-hearted and compassionate individual to join our team of Befriender Volunteers. The role of a Befriender Volunteer is to provide companionship, support, and friendship to individuals who may be isolated, lonely, or facing challenging situations in their lives
We are seeking a kind-hearted and compassionate individual to join our team of Befrienders The role of a Befriender is to provide companionship, support, and friendship to individuals who may be isolated, lonely, or facing challenging situations in their lives. Responsibilities: Visit and spend time with assigned individuals, engaging in conversation, activities, or simply sharing company Listen attentively to the individual's concerns, stories, and experiences, and provide a non-judgmental and empathetic ear Offer practical support, such as helping with errands, light housekeeping, or accompanying them to appointments Help the individual maintain connections with their community by accompanying them to social events or activities Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual's privacy and boundaries at all times Document visits and any relevant information in a logbook or database Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Befriender Volunteer

Volunteers will gain a wealth of experience and transferable skills supporting service users that they can use as reference when applying for job roles in the health and social care sector. Volunteers will be actively transforming lives, creating a better community by combating isolation and loneliness and encouraging inclusion. A very rewarding experience
Ability to commit to a regular schedule of visits and activities (minimum of 2 hours per week)
