Cookery Volunteer for Cooking Up Charity
Cooking Up
Cookery volunteers needed to support community cookery sessions in Ham and Whitton to help people living in challenging circumstances to learn to cook affordable healthy meals for themselves and their families.
Do you love to cook? We are looking for local volunteers in Ham, Hampton, Twickenham and Whitton who are keen cooks and who would like to make a positive difference in their community by helping people living in challenging circumstances to learn to cook affordable, healthy meals for themselves and their families. As a volunteer for Cooking Up, you will be responsible for supporting participants during the community cookery lessons which take place over a 5-week period, helping them to cook the meals during the sessions which they then take home to their families. You don't need to have any previous cooking experience - you just need to love food and motivating people. We also have opportunities for a number of volunteers keen to take a lead role in facilitating the cookery sessions. We are currrently working with a variety of partners including Richmond Aid, United Response, Inspired Hub Hampton, Ham Children's Centre, Ham Youth Centre, Crossroads Care, Skylarks, and Whitton Community Centre. We are also partnering with local social prescribers and food banks.
