Peer Supporter (maternal mental health)

Sister Circle

Maternal Mental Health Peer Supporters help women who are experiencing mental health difficulties arising from pregnancy loss, birth trauma or baby loss through dedicated peer support groups in the community.

Detailed Description

Sister Circle has partnered with East London NHS Foundation Trust to establish peer support groups for women using the the OCEAN maternal mental health service. It is hard to comprehend how difficult it is to be unsupported during pregnancy and at birth, let alone during a traumatic birthing experience, or at a time of tragic loss. Sadly, many women have gone through this with little or no support. Our Maternal Mental Health Peer Supporters help women who are experiencing mental health difficulties arising from pregnancy loss, birth trauma or baby loss through dedicated peer support groups in the community.
