Langley Trust has an exciting volunteer opportunity for an approachable, practical, and positive individual to join us in the role of Volunteer Befriender at our housing and resettlement services where we support clients with multiple needs. We are looking for individuals to help our clients with a variety of everyday tasks, teaching and guiding them through practical work and life experience. Supporting them to do simple tasks such as shopping, budgeting and other day to day tasks.

Langley Trust has an exciting volunteer opportunity for an approachable, practical, and positive individual to join us in the role of Volunteer Befriender at our housing and resettlement services where we support clients with multiple needs. We are looking for individuals to help our clients with a variety of everyday tasks, teaching and guiding them through practical work and life experience. Supporting them to do simple tasks such as shopping, budgeting and other day to day tasks. Why these skills are required

Key responsibilities: Working under the direction of the Service Manager, to befriend and mentor clients, providing support with everyday tasks, such as: 1. Support clients with shopping 2. Support clients with budgeting 3. Helping clients to arrange interviews or appointments 4. Helping clients to complete official forms and applications 5. Helping with social skills, such as going for tea/ coffee or other outings 6. Supporting clients to engage in activities at the project 7. Providing a listening ear 8. Reporting back to Service Manager or staff on engagement with clients, highlighting any improvement or issues that give cause for concern.
