Visitor Guide

St Anne's Church Limehouse

Are you available for just 3 hours per month? St Anne's need volunteers to welcome visitors to our historic church and answer questions about the history and architecture (we provide training on this). Shifts are on Fridays and Saturdays, either morning (10am-1pm) or afternoon (1pm-4pm).

Detailed Description

Could you share the fascinating history of a beautiful historic church? We are looking for a team of volunteers to help us to open the church to visitors for more days than we can at present. It's a commitment of just 3 hours per month, on either a Friday or Saturday. There will be a rota system. Volunteers will be in pairs and sign up for either a morning slot (10am to 1pm) or an afternoon slot (1pm to 4pm). Duties are to look after the church building, answer questions about the Church’s history and architecture from visitors, and liaise with Church officials if visitors make enquiries relating to the ministry. The majority of visitors will come to see and admire this superb Grade 1 listed Nicholas Hawksmoor church, first consecrated in 1730. Volunteers will receive training in how to explain St Anne’s fascinating history, architecture and complex restoration to groups of visitors. Volunteers will also be trained in St Anne’s safeguarding policies. We are excited about developing a team of volunteers that will become a valued part of our team at St Anne’s.
