London's Air Ambulance
Help London’s Air Ambulance Charity save lives! We need committed volunteers for our charity shop at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel. Duties include opening/closing, assisting customers, sharing charity info, and managing payments. You'll receive full training and support, with travel expenses covered. Help us raise vital funds to keep our life-saving service flying.
London's Air Ambulance is a unique team of expert doctors, paramedics and pilots who are dedicated to providing London with world-class medical care when a life is on the line. Traumatic injury is the biggest killer of those under 45 in London, and every day six people in the city are so critically injured they need the complex procedures only we can provide. Thanks to your time and support, on the worst day of someone’s life, our medics can provide hope for the patient and their loved ones. We’re looking for committed volunteers who are able to help on a regular basis in our charity shop based at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Our shop is vital to help us raise funds and awareness of the charity, and is also a place where patients and families often visit when they are in the hospital to take a break, find support and learn more about London’s Air Ambulance Charity. Our shop isn’t just about selling items - it's a safe space that raises awareness, offers comfort and builds connection. By volunteering, you’ll be helping us to raise vital funds for London’s only local air ambulance and helping provide critical care for the people who desperately need us. WHAT DOES THIS ROLE INVOLVE? • Opening and/or closing the shop • Greeting customers and helping them with any queries • Providing accurate information about the charity to customers and supporters – volunteers must have a good understanding of the charity’s work • Taking payments for purchases using an electronic till • Cashing up at the end of the day. Our volunteers are key to supporting our fundraising efforts, helping us increase our reach across the communities of London. From taking part in bucket collections, placing collection pots in local businesses, speaking to community groups, volunteering in our shop and our office and much, much more, there are a variety of ways to get involved.

The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel
The easiest way to find the shop is to come out of Whitechapel station, cross the main road in front of you at the traffic lights and walk up E Mount Street. Follow it around to the right, and enter by the very last exit on your left (through revolving doors). Keep walking in the same direction, following the corridor straight ahead, and then as it bends round to the left, the shop will be on your left.
