Beyond Sight Loss is a charity supporting people with visual impairments to stay socially connected, confident, and engaged with the world around them. We run friendly monthly social meetings and organise regular group outings, creating welcoming spaces where people can meet, chat, explore new places, and enjoy time together. We are currently looking for volunteers to support our monthly meetings and outings. Volunteers play an important role in helping activities run smoothly — from making tea and chatting with members, to offering sighted guiding support and travelling together on days out. Our outings include visits to museums, historic sites, parks and gardens, as well as occasional trips further afield such as lavender farms or seaside days out. *What the role involves* • Supporting monthly members’ meetings (second Thursday of every month, 1:30–4pm, in Bethnal Green) • Helping out on monthly group outings (usually the last Thursday of the month, about 10am–5pm) • Offering sighted guiding support when needed, including navigating venues and public transport • Being a friendly, reassuring presence so everyone feels comfortable and included
