You will be fully supported by a team, buffet lunch is provided and full training, safeguarding and DBS. Also, we have staff benefits, i.e. paid for Summer and Christmas meals with the whole team.
• Meet Crossroads and Alzheimer’s Society staff at the beginning of the session, attending the briefing session if volunteer wishes • Assist in setting up café – putting out tables, chairs, table clothes, flowers, magazines, literature, games etc. • Assist with the preparation of food and drinks as required at beginning of the day and throughout the day (only following a successful food hygiene training course) • Help greet visitors and show them to tables • Socialise with visitors – helping making them feel welcome and at ease – encouraging them to join in activities if appropriate • Assist any visitors with collecting their food and drink • Assist visitors at all times, showing them where toilet facilities are located • Assist in packing up any equipment at end of the session and attend debriefing session if volunteer wishes • Socialise with visitors – helping making them feel welcome and at ease – encouraging them to join in activities as appropriate • This job summary is a reflection of the current position and may change in emphasis or detail in the light of subsequent events

Supporting carers and the people they care for with Dementia.
This would support Crossroads by having another pair of hands available to support our cared for people living with Dementia to have the 1:1 conversation and encourage to access music or quiz sessions within the cafe.
