We are looking for van drivers to help us collect and deliver furniture donations to and from our social enterprises.

Detailed Description

As a Van Driver/Crew member, you will play a crucial role in supporting our charity shop's operations by helping to transport donated goods. This role involves driving our charity vans and working as part of a team of three to collect and deliver a wide range of items. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of everything from wardrobes and beds to washing machines and TVs. Key responsibilities include: *Driving the charity van to collect donations from various locations. *Shifting and lifting heavy items, ensuring they are handled with care. *Assisting in loading and unloading the van, working collaboratively with your team to ensure all items are secured properly. *Ensuring the van is maintained in good condition, reporting any issues promptly. This role is physically demanding and requires a good level of fitness, but it offers the rewarding experience of making a direct impact on the community and the work of the charity.

Why these skills are required

We are seeking individuals who are reliable, friendly, and flexible. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. Additionally, you must be capable of safely lifting and moving heavy items, such as furniture and large appliances, as manual handling is a key part of the job.

Time Commitment

We need people every day (except Sunday) from 9-5, for as many days as you can give; 1 day a week, 2 days a month. Ideally, we need people who can commit to supporting us regularly so you become part of the team, but short–term placements are also available.
