Hands-on Heritage Volunteer Role
Museum of Croydon
The Museum of Croydon has received National Lottery Heritage Funding for its new outreach initiative, Hands-on Heritage.We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to support Museum and freelance staff in delivering these sessions
· Taking photos and noting down comments / feedback / observations / reminiscences · Assisting with activities during the session e.g. children’s arts and crafts · Supporting the facilitator by circulating handling objects during with the group / class visit · Helping the facilitator set up and clear away.

Customer Service/Hospitality, Initiative/Self Motivation, Verbal Communication, Teamwork
· Good communication / interpersonal skills · Good team player – a reliable, confident, enthusiastic and responsible individual · Experience of working with older people, including people with dementia (not essential) · Experience of working with children and their parents / carers (not essential).
· Increase your confidence and social skills · Giving something valuable back to the local community · Gain experience of supporting a variety of customers in different settings · Training and experience that can be included in CVs and job applications · Reimbursement of travel expenses
