As an Outreach Volunteer you will be promoting Relationship Circle's mentoring service within the community to attract potential clients. You will create and develop relationships with local referral agencies in Tower Hamlets, such as Family Hubs, Community Navigators, GP surgeries, advice services etc. This role will suit someone who enjoys networking and making new connections. You'll need to be free for 3-6 hours a week, some of which needs to be during the weekday daytimes.
Relationship Circle supports local families and children who are experiencing relationship challenges and emotional issues at home, work or school, by matching them to trained Volunteer Mentors. As an Outreach Volunteer, you will be promoting our service widely within the community to attract potential clients for our mentoring service. You will create and develop relationships with local referral agencies in Tower Hamlets, such as Family Hubs, Community Navigators, GP surgeries, advice services, and many others who may be able to refer potential clients/mentees to our service. You will start by researching and compiling a list of potential referral agencies and places to advertise our service, and discuss with our Director and Project Support Officer. Once agreed, you will make contact by phone or email, and potentially visit some organisations to give talks or put up flyers. You may also run a stall at local events. This role will suit someone who enjoys networking and making new connections. Ideally you will volunteer for 3–6 hours a week. The timing is flexible and can fit around your other commitments, but some weekday daytime availability is needed for visiting local organisations. You will receive a thorough induction and be supported throughout your volunteer placement by our Director and Project Support Officer. Main duties are: • Engaging with community and voluntary groups, public sector, faith-based groups and other support organisations in Tower Hamlets, to promote our funded projects in Tower Hamlets • Putting up flyers and posters to raise our profile and to promote our services at various venues e.g. public libraries, county hall, schools and community centres. • Initiating and maintaining contact, initially by phone and email, but with the potential to attend external meetings and give presentations about Relationship Cirlce’s work and the recruitment of clients/mentees to our service. • Developing presentations and other communication materials with support from the Project Support Officer. • Supporting and promoting our work via running stalls at local events • Maintaining effective records of work undertaken, keeping notes accurate and up-to date. • Working effectively with volunteer mentors and mentees.

• Friendly and outgoing. • Excellent communication skills using speech, writing and any other appropriate methods. • Confidence in communicating with a wide range of people. • Ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds. • Able to work on your own. • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office e.g. Word and Excel and emails. • Fluency in English. • Must be able to travel on foot and via public transport to visit places in Tower Hamlets.

Volunteer roles are unpaid, but we can reimburse volunteers for travel costs (public transport) within Tower Hamlets.
