Working Well Trust (WWT) is an employment charity dedicated to empowering people experiencing mental health challenges and neurodiverse conditions to achieve their potential through meaningful employment. Our mission is to improve lives by offering emotional and practical support at every stage of their recovery and employment journey, fostering self-respect, confidence, and financial independence. Starting a business or social enterprise can be both challenging and rewarding. For clients seeking independent advice to pursue an entrepreneurial career path, our Business & Enterprise Advice Service provides expert mentoring and practical guidance to help them overcome barriers and build sustainable businesses. As a Business Befriender, you will provide a vital helping hand with a range of tasks, from assisting with day-to-day business activities to offering encouragement and support during stressful moments. Whether you're assisting with a client’s promotional efforts, running business errands, or helping with markets or events, your contribution will be invaluable in empowering individuals to succeed in their business ventures. What You’ll Do: • Offer practical, hands-on support for clients with a variety of business tasks, from helping at market stalls or events to assisting with day-to-day operations. • Lend a caring ear and offer emotional support to clients who may be facing challenges in their business journey. • Offer help and encouragement in distributing marketing materials (flyers, posters, business cards) to increase the visibility of client businesses. • Provide tangible support with tasks such as administrative duties, packaging, product assembly, or running essential or stressful business errands. • Work alongside the Business & Enterprise team to identify areas where clients need assistance and provide support in a way that’s meaningful to them.

Essential Criteria: • A caring and supportive nature, with a proactive approach and a genuine interest in helping others. • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with people from all walks of life. • No specific expertise required – your time, effort, and kindness are what matter most. • Patience, empathy, and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with mental health difficulties or neurodiverse conditions. • Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks, from practical business support like running stressful business errands or completing tasks, to offering emotional support and encouragement. Desirable Criteria: • Experience of supporting people with mental health needs or neurodiversity. • Experience in supporting small businesses or social enterprises in any area. • Familiarity with community engagement, event coordination, or volunteer work. • A basic understanding of business operations and the challenges involved in entrepreneurship.
