Youth Club & Holiday Club Activity Workers

Solid Rock Academy

Volunteers help create a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 5–17 by leading activities such as arts and crafts, baking, and sports, and assisting with tidying up. Support staff in maintaining a safe, fun space during youth club sessions (Thursdays and Fridays, 5–7pm) or holiday clubs (Easter, Summer, and Winter, 10am–2pm).

Detailed Description

Volunteers play a vital role in creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for children aged 5–17. You’ll help coordinate and lead fun activities such as arts and crafts, baking, and a variety of indoor and outdoor sports. Working alongside our staff team, volunteers ensure that every child feels comfortable, supported, and enjoys their time with us. Opportunities are available during our youth club sessions on Thursdays and Fridays from 5–7pm, as well as during our holiday clubs held in Easter, Summer, and Winter, running from 10am–2pm. At the end of each session, volunteers assist with tidying up—and during our half-term camps, you’ll also enjoy a hearty lunch provided as part of the team.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with children aged 4-16, as well as collaborate with staff members. Patience and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to show understanding and empathy towards children, especially in challenging situations, while maintaining patience and composure. Organisation: Capability to assist in organising and coordinating various activities, ensuring smooth transitions and a structured environment. Safety Awareness: Awareness of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment for children, including being vigilant and responsive to potential risks. Teamwork: Willingness to work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to support the overall success of the programs and activities. Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and be open to taking on various tasks as needed to meet the needs of the children and the program. Reliability: Consistency in attendance and commitment to fulfilling volunteer responsibilities, including punctuality and reliability in completing tasks. These skills are essential to ensure the effective support and supervision of children during our programs and activities.

Time Commitment

We offer flexible volunteering opportunities. You can choose to volunteer for a single week, during our holiday clubs, or on a longer-term basis with our youth club. Volunteers are welcome to select the option that best fits their availability and interests.
