Additional Benefits. •Once you have at least 12 months of service and have been awarded Independent Patrol Status, you can apply directly to the PCDA programme without needing any GCSEs or A Levels (Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship), should you wish to become a full-time police officer. •You get priority over the public in applying for any Civilian Police Staff jobs. •You get to add to your CV that you are a fully qualified police officer – useful for applying to any job and not just jobs within the police service. •Try the role of a police officer while studying for a degree in another subject without committing to it. You can leave at any time if you feel it is not for you.
