The Responder assists staff & patients around the hospital with tasks such as patient flow in outpatient clinics, giving directions, providing wheelchairs & delivering pharmacy medicine to wards. The role will also include supporting staff with the patient flow within our different outpatient departments & assisting the teams with other non clinical duties. This is a varied & interesting role providing insight into different parts of the hospital and involves interacting with staff & patients.

This is a varied and interesting role which provides insights into many different parts of the hospital. It involves frequently interacting with staff and patients.

Some patients might be distressed, and seeing patients with delirium or dementia can be distressing for some • ask for help if you are unsure about what to do of how to use PPE • follow Trust guidelines on reporting any Covid symptoms, practicing social distancing, wearing PPE (which the Trust provides), and practicing good hand hygiene • sign in and out of shifts using the My Impact app – this is essential so the Volunteering service knows your whereabouts • report to the Volunteering Hub before your shift (unless you volunteer on a weekend).
