Front of House Volunteer

Young V&A (formerly Museum Of Childhood)

As a Front of House Volunteer with Young V&A, you’ll be activating our museum spaces for young people, modelling positive play and ensuring a great experience for visitors by being a warm, welcoming presence. You will give time once or twice a month (or more if you want). Volunteering slots are available seven days a week., either a morning session (10:45 - 14:45) or an afternoon session (12:15 - 16:15). *The closing date for applications is Monday 27th January 2025*

Detailed Description

Volunteering at Young V&A will give you the opportunity to inspire creative confidence in the younger generation (0-14) through play, imagination and design. Designed by young people, for young people, Young V&A in Bethnal Green completely re-imagines what a museum space for young visitors can be, encouraging the creative curiosity crucial for the development of future generations. Bringing your passion for supporting young people’s development and creativity, you’ll be at the forefront of making a huge impact in the local community and helping to ensure visitors have a joyful experience, while also supporting the transformation of volunteering within the V&A. You will give your time once or twice a month (or more if you want). Volunteering slots last for fours hours with a break and are available seven days a week. Volunteers can either sign up to either a morning session (10:45-14:45) or an afternoon session (12:15-16:15). What you’ll be doing: • Depending on your role (Changemaker, Storymaker or Playmaker), you’ll be activating our museum spaces for young people, modelling positive play and ensuring a great experience for visitors by being a warm, welcoming presence. • Engaging visitors and bringing the interactive elements to life of our next exhibition: Making Egypt Key Dates: Come and chat to our friendly team of staff and volunteers at one of our volunteer Open Days in the Young V&A Museum. Please note attendance of these Open Days are optional. • Saturday 11 January 2025, 11:00 – 13:00, Young V&A Town Square • Friday 17 January 2025, 11:00 – 13:00, Young V&A Town Square You must be available to attend a Selection Day on one of the dates below: • Friday 24 January 2025, 11:00 – 13:30 • Saturday 1 February 2025, 11:00 – 13:30 *The closing date for applications is Monday 27 January 2025*
