About Read Easy Imagine not being able to read a bus timetable, fill out a form at the doctors, or share a bedtime story with your child. For many adults in the UK, this is a daily reality. At Read Easy, we change that by offering free, confidential, one-to-one coaching that transforms lives. With the help of our volunteers, adults gain the skills and confidence to read, unlocking independence, new opportunities, and brighter futures. About the Role: Are you someone who enjoys connecting with people, staying organized and making a difference behind the scenes? We're looking for friendly and reliable Volunteer Coordinators to help support the smooth running of our reading program. In this role, you'll work closely with both our volunteer coaches and the readers they support; helping to guide them through their journeys - from sign-up to graduation. You’ll also get involved in the coach recruitment process and help keep our records up to date. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining hands-on experience in areas like human resources, communication, and office administration—all while supporting a meaningful cause. What You’ll Be Doing: · Helping with coach recruitment, including sitting in on interviews and assisting with onboarding. · Managing the enrolment of readers and making sure their details are added to our system. · Keeping in touch with coaches and readers to check in on their progress and help with any questions. · Supporting the program's progress discussions and celebrating reader achievements by presenting graduate certificates. · Attending bi-monthly coach meetings/coordinator meetings and helping organise training for coaches. · Updating our simple databases (like Excel) with progress and enrolment information. We’ll Support You You won’t be doing this alone, we’ll provide: • Full induction, training, policies, resources, and ongoing guidance. • Regular meetings with our Literacy Specialist for expert support. • Access to your Read Easy UK Regional Adviser. • Opportunities to connect with fellow Coordinators, attend volunteer forums, and join our inspiring National Conference. What we're looking for: · Good communication skills. · Comfortable using basic IT tools like Excel, Word, email and Teams. · A friendly, approachable attitude and willingness to support others. · Good organisational skills and an eye for detail.

Time commitment - around 2 to 3 hours per week Schedule Flexible: plan around your own availability and that of your reading pairs.
