Join Providence Row Housing Association as an Activities Volunteer to develop, deliver and support resident activities at our scheme at Daniel Gilbert House (DGH). At DGH we provide accommodation to single homeless people with medium-high support needs. Bring your enthusiasm, fun and creativity to enable residents to engage in meaningful activities and move towards greater independence within the community, as well as empowering and upskilling residents with social and life skills. What will you be doing: • Promoting, delivering and facilitating suitable activities for residents • Working closely with Key Workers to ensure that activities compliment the requirements of DGH. • Work closely with residents to involve them in the design and running of the activities. • Producing publicity material and raising awareness of available opportunities. • Attending team meetings, residents' meetings and feedback sessions when appropriate and available. • Developing a network of support in the local community appropriate to residents. Some examples of activities you could get involved in: • We have a Breakfast Club from 9am to 10.30am every day, including weekends, and with volunteer support we could extend the hours of this service. • We have an Art Club on Friday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm, which could do with volunteer support. • We have a Woodwork Group which runs most days from 10am to 3pm. If you are available outside of these session times, we would still welcome your help, especially if you have your own skill and want to start a new activity with residents.
