Detailed Description

One Million Mentors (1MM) is a community based mentoring program that empowers young people to become the best version of themselves: building relationships - free of assumption and judgement - where they benefit from another’s experience and perspective and can think bigger, find their own answers and take the next meaningful step into their future. We are in need of volunteers to help young people in Tower Hamlets. We recruit, train and deploy volunteer mentors, matching them with mentees. We provide high quality support to both of you, so that you are well prepared and can have an effective and impactful mentoring relationship. Our mentoring is one-to-one for 1 hour, once a month, for up to a year. You will be volunteering Business A-Level Year 1 students at Attlee Academy who are looking for guidance with their next steps. This guidance can include helping with their CV, deciding next steps in their career or university, or careers without university. We use a hybrid delivery model, with some mentoring sessions taking place in person and others online. Our next programme starts in early January 2025. You will need to be available on a Wednesday, 3pm-4pm, once a month (see dates below). You’ll have the chance to use your experience and skills to help change a young person’s life. You’ll be giving something back that will really make a difference and 1MM will be with you every step of the way to support you while you do it.
