Canalway Cavalcade event volunteer

inland Waterways Association

We are looking for volunteers to help from as little as a couple of hours at a time with a range of roles around the festival including giving out event brochures, collecting donations, giving out information and directions, helping traders setting up stalls, giving you lots of opportunity to chat with visitors, boaters and get to know the rest of the volunteering family. • This is a once a year event - this year we need volunteers on Saturday 4th May, Sunday 5th May and Monday 6th May.

Detailed Description

IWA’s Canalway Cavalcade will return to London’s Little Venice between 4th May and 6th May 2024. The event is held annually over the three days of the early May Day Bank Holiday and is a vibrant waterways celebration. London’s Little Venice will be transformed with hundreds of colourful boats, live music, refreshment stands, craft stalls and family activities!. • We are looking for volunteers to help from as little as a couple of hours at a time with a range of roles around the festival including giving out event brochures, collecting donations, giving out information and directions, helping traders setting up stalls, giving you lots of opportunity to chat with visitors, boaters and get to know the rest of the volunteering family. • This is a once a year event - this year we need volunteers on Saturday 4th May, Sunday 5th May and Monday 6th May. • The event takes place in Little Venice, London (W9 2PF and W2 6NE) near Paddington station. • We have an amazing team of volunteers who run all the different areas of the festival including Waterspace (the boats) Entertainment, Commercial (stall holders and food stands) and Children's Activities but we're always looking for more help to make the event even more spectacular!

Why these skills are required

• No specific skills are required, all training and information is given upon arrival and new volunteers will be paired with experienced volunteers. However if you have any particular skills or experience in areas such as Publicity, Marketing or Event Management, we would love to hear from you!

London has many waterways and a wonderfukl waterways family of people nto just boaters but anglers, stand up body boarders, canoeist, runners and walkers for whom you would be helping to preserve the environment. we have other opprotunites after the event for general volunteering we can discuss with you.
