In this role, you will provide support to a team of volunteer drivers and provide administrative assistance to Guide Dogs in organising volunteer driver tasks. The role includes helping with the recruitment and training of drivers, and managing information in line with data protection requirements.
In this role, you will provide support to a team of volunteer drivers and provide administrative assistance to Guide Dogs in organising volunteer driver tasks. Guide Dogs rely on volunteers like you to help us improve the lives of people with sight loss. In this role tasks will include: · Supporting volunteers by ensuring they perform their role in a safe manner which complies with Guide Dogs' policies and processes. · Supporting volunteers within their role by helping to give them a positive volunteer experience. · Contacting the volunteer drivers to coordinate driving requirements and requests, ensuring that drivers have all necessary information and equipment. · Working with the Regional Volunteering Team to ensure all drivers are registered with ADT (Applied Driving Techniques). · Setting up and maintaining systems for holding driving information, and training details, in line with data protection. · Assisting with recruitment of volunteer drivers, including interviews and training. · Maintaining good relationships with volunteer drivers in your area.

Ideally you will: · Have good administrative skills. · Have good communication and interpersonal skills. · Be comfortable and motivated to work in a dog environment. · Be flexible. · Be able to work as part of a team. Training and support This role has approximately 10 hours of training and then you’ll be ready to go! These modules include: · Lead volunteer training: Supervising and Coordinating. · Safer recruitment training. · General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) training. · Safeguarding training.
