Online Services & Information Desk Volunteer

Helping older and vulnerable adults to access online services, such as benefits agencies, local councils, and health services, by creating accounts, filling in forms, and downloading apps - together, to increase their confidence using technology.
Tasks will vary from session to session but typically include: - Assist in setting up the table or drop-in. - Researching online resources on behalf of, and signposting residents. - Setting up online accounts (local council, welfare benefits, freedom pass applications, etc) - Preparing residents with log-in details and a list of documents they will need to start their application. - Assisting residents to fill in forms where help is needed. - Assisting/talking residents through the process of photographing documents, and attaching/submitting those documents. - Downloading apps and demonstrating how to use them. - Liaising with the host. - Taking clear, simple case notes and uploading them onto our online forms.

One weekly two-hour session at one of our community locations. Due to training involved, we ask for at least six months commitment.
