We are looking for volunteers to join the Community Action team at St Christopher's Hospice to facilitate groups, provide peer support, bringing their own skills and interests to the role.
We are looking for volunteers to join the Community Action team at St Christopher's Hospice to facilitate groups, provide peer support, bringing their own skills and interests to the role. You will be spending time with members of our community (including current patients and their carers) to come together to share, learn and support each other through experiences of death, dying and loss. This may be through peer support groups, arts activities, or workshops. We offer a range of activities and groups. You may choose to facilitate one or more of the following: • a peer group session for carers to share their experiences, online and in person • a creative arts group at St Christopher’s for patients to explore different topics related to death, dying and loss • a drop-in bereavement support group across SE London and online • an evening discussion group connected to themes around death, dying and loss • and/or other new opportunities that we may develop

IT Skills - Basic, Verbal Communication, Teamwork, Initiative/Self Motivation
We are looking for people who are open, kind and compassionate with good verbal communication and active listening skills. You will be empathetic and warm, able to work well with others in group settings and build a friendly rapport with new people quickly. You may be using zoom so will require basic IT literacy. Though we are happy to support you with tech issues and show you how to use zoom if you aren't wholly comfortable. We want you to work with us, bringing your whole self, passions and interests to the role. You will be helping us to reflect on and the groups we currently run. There will also be opportunities to design and co-produce new groups or initiatives so you will need to be self motivated and engaged, curious and inquisitive about trying new approaches.
