Detailed Description

As a Street Leader with LBTH Public Realm your main role will be to report environmental problems regularly through a priority pathway on the council’s Find It, Fix It app. Street Leaders will send the council reports of litter, waste dumped in streets, graffiti and other issues that impact the cleanliness of our public spaces. With full support from the council, we want our Street Leaders to help us make Tower Hamlets cleaner and greener for everyone who lives, works and visits our borough. In addition to regular reporting, Street Leaders can help by becoming leaders in their communities or join other volunteering activities. All of these activities are entirely optional – the only thing we need our Street Leaders to commit to is regularly reporting environmental issues to the council so that we can work together to make our borough cleaner and greener. Some of the other ways Street Leaders can get involved are: Promoting positive behaviours in your communities by sharing information on council services such as: • our bulky waste offer • free re-useable recycling bags • how to apply for food waste and garden waste collections Supporting ownership of our shared spaces by organising or supporting volunteer-led activities such as: • Litter picking • Graffiti removal • Flyer removal • Fence painting • Weeding/planting • Community engagement events to promote better domestic waste management This role is open to anyone aged 16+
