Are you passionate about ecology and art? Do you have first experience maintaining a website and producing digital content? Would you like to be part of an inspiring team, expanding on your digital skills while helping others in your local community? We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and organised Digital Assistant Volunteer to support the NJA team maintaining the project's website. Norwood JunkAction is an art and ecology community project that provides an imaginative outlook on social and climate issues, turning litter into artwork. Our weekly litter-picking programme and creative workshops are designed to help local residents to be active, meet like minded people and deal with the litter in our streets and public spaces in a manageable, creative and fun way. We explore both climate and social issues through litter-picking, recycling and art making. We work with local organisations, schools and community hubs in Croydon. As part of Croydon’s London Borough of Culture 2023 programme NJA and local collaborators will produce The Norwood JunkAction Festival, an ambitious new project celebrating local invention, community and art. Our website provides details about our project and helps broaden the circle of interested public to achieve sustainability of the project. You will make sure to use excellent imagery and graphics to create instant impact, providing informative menu points to make the site easy to navigate and clear calls to action to encourage our users to support our work. You will be consistently updating the website throughout the year, working closely with our co-founder and facilitator as well as our communications coordinator to update content. Our website is built with wix. The ideal candidate will have first experience in maintaining a website. The role is fairly flexible and we are happy to work in a way that utilises your skills and interests. You will need your own computer or secure access to one. As our Digital Assistant you will: - Be responsible for editing and uploading new content to the website, make regular changes as required by Norwood JunkAction’s activities - Collaborate with NJA’s facilitators and other volunteers to ensure content is delivered in a clear, consistent and in the most impactful way for different audiences - Bring your own ideas and vision on our digital platform - Attend internal meetings
