Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and understand the importance of service user and volunteer relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans.
You do not have to have experience of supporting a sight-impaired person. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable, safe and confident in your volunteering. And don't worry about your expenses, as the cost of your public transport or mileage costs plus the cost of a hot/cold beverage will be reimbursed.
Our volunteers are expected to commit to one visit with the veteran every fortnight and the duration of each visit is not expected to exceed one hour, and thirty minutes.
