Engagement Volunteer (Drugs and Alcohol)
Build on Belief
Build on Belief provides a safe space at weekends for people struggling with, or in recovery from, drug and alcohol addiction. You will be helping us by welcoming new clients to the service and recording their details on a form. However, most of your time will be spent generally engaging with our service users, playing board games, chatting and making them feel welcome. We also occasionally go out on day trips. Regular weekend volunteering is required on either Saturday or Sunday.
Build on Belief specialises in delivering weekend services for people who are struggling with, or are in recovery from, their drug and alcohol use. Our Tower Hamlets service opened in October 2023 and we support service users by providing a safe, social space to come and relax and spend time taking part in activities such as yoga (Saturdays), and art (Sundays), board games, and using computers. You will be helping us by welcoming new clients to the service and recording their details on a form. However, most of your time will be spent generally engaging with our service users, playing board games, chatting and making them feel welcome. We also occasionally go out on day trips. This volunteer role is a great stepping stone towards gaining employment in the addiction/drugs and alcohol field.
