Gardening Volunteer Role
Croydon Libraries
• To assist with watering, weeding and planting as needed • To keep pathways clean and clear of debris • To mow the grass and keep it at a reasonable length (This will only be applicable for some libraries) • To liaise with staff and outside community groups who may be involved in the upkeep of the garden while you’re there
Croydon libraries are looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to join our volunteer team who would be interested in helping to maintain and improve the garden area outside some of the libraries in Croydon. This may also include working alongside other community organisations who may assist and support the overall upkeep of the outside library green spaces. • The volunteer may be requested to provide their own tools in some of the libraries green spaces. • A basic knowledge of plant care and use of gardening tools • Good communication skills • A reasonable level of fitness • Good team player • A good understanding of relevant health and safety issues
