To support the MIG Manager, or other GCDA supervising staff with their day to day roles in the shop and Workshop room.
To ensure that the shop is open and welcoming for customers during specified hours. To support the MIG Manager, or other GCDA supervising staff with their day to day roles in the shop and Workshop room. These may include serving customers, informing customers about the work of GCDA, maintaining that the shop is clean and compliant with all H&S requirements, room set up for events, general cleaning and venue tidying, keeping accurate and full records of sales, packaging of items sold (this is likely to include fragile items). Future plans for MIG include a small café. The role could also include positive promotion of MIG on social media platforms, website management and/or event management (entirely based on desires of the volunteer).

Essential skills required: Good customer service skills. Able to use own initiative. Able to assist/complete in manual tasks. Be able to adhere to and complete any instructions for tasks. Maintenance of good hygiene in the workplace and personally. Desirable skills: Knowledge of Hoot Suite for scheduling social media posts. Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook). Knowledge of website updating, particularly Wix and/or Hootsuite. Awareness of basic Health & Safety. Ability to ‘teach’ or run a drop-in group for any creative or other skills.

We are currently open to the public Tuesday to Sunday, from 11am to 5pm, though volunteers can work to assist in setting up and cleaning up, so hours can be between 10:45am and 5:15pm. Volunteers will usually be required to do 3.5 hour shifts. These will be either 10:45am to 2:15pm, or 1:45pm to 5:15pm.
