Wimbledon Guild
We offer a range of exercise classes for people over 50 in Merton, held at various locations including our Wimbledon base on Worple Road, WG Morden, Morden Baptist Church, and Canons Leisure Centre in Mitcham. Our classes cater to all levels of mobility, from Pilates, Stroke Exercise, and Tai Chi, to Dancing with Parkinson's, Yoga, and Seated Exercise. Our team of 30 Exercise Class Volunteers provides a warm welcome, assists with sign-in and payments, and actively participates in the sessions,
Your Responsibilities • Greet and register clients upon arrival, take a register and cash, or card payment. • Introduce newcomers to the Class Instructor. • Sit with the client if they need to rest during the class and offer them water. • Set up the room, distribute equipment or water, and tidy up after the session. • Support clients with mobility issues as directed by the Class Instructor. • Actively participate in sessions. • Liaise with the Class Instructor and Community Engagement Team, providing feedback and reporting problems. • Follow our policies and procedures.

How We Support You You will be given a Wimbledon Guild point of contact who can help you with any questions or concerns that you might have. You will have the information, training, and resources you need to carry out your volunteer role. We ask all our volunteers to attend an induction and role-specific training, which might be in-person, online, or through e-modules. Claiming Expenses We will reimburse you for reasonable out-of-pocket travel expenses. All expenses must be agreed upon and signed off by the Community Engagement team and submitted monthly, by email or in-person. We will only reimburse you for the amount agreed and payment will be made by bank transfer.
