To increase the amount of feedback we get via our Friends and Family satisfaction surveys for service users and carers. To spend time in waiting areas of mental health services offering encouragement & support to service users and carers to fill in the satisfaction survey. Where possible, you will work in pairs. The “Friends & Family Test” (FFT) is a question that all healthcare providers have to offer people who use their service – it asks overall how satisfied people are with the service they received. Data from the surveys is looked at by managers and teams, alongside complaints, compliments and suggestions. The feedback helps the team know where they are doing well and where they can improve. •Check in with your nominated staff member when you arrive. They can give you any special information that you might need for the day – if there is going to be a fire evacuation exercise, or if it is likely to be especially busy •Make sure there are enough paper questionnaires and envelopes for each of the services (focussed support and short term support). Reception staff can help you if there aren’t. •Approach people in the waiting area to encourage them to fill in a satisfaction survey after their appointment. You can offer them support to fill them in if needed.
