Volunteering is a fantastic way to engage with sporting events, develop skills and make a valuable contribution as part of a team. We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive and practical volunteers to fulfil a variety of roles across the event such as helping runners to the Start, directing and cheering them along the Route or handing out the shiny medals at the Finish. Whatever your role on the day, you’ll be making a vital contribution to the success of this fantastic event.
The London Winter Run needs enthusiastic, proactive and practical individuals, who are prepared to be placed in a variety of roles at the event. If you want to join the delivery team of a major Central London sporting event and all whilst supporting the vital work of Cancer Research UK then this is the role for you! We have a variety of volunteer roles that all contribute to the effective running of this event which we couldn’t do without wonderful volunteers. Some of these roles include: 1. Meet and Greet – answering questions, directing participants and getting them motivated for the run. 2. Helping With The Management Of The Start – controlling flow of runners to the start line and keeping them inspired 3. Welcoming Back Runners Into The Finish Area – loud cheering and congratulating and giving out medals and some costume roles as well 4. Helping Out At The Bag Drop Off / Collection Area – friendly, switched-on volunteers who can help run the bag drop like clockwork 5. Helping Out At The Info Desk or Volunteer Room 6. Marshalling – directing and cheering on runners along the route (need to be loud and energetic no matter the weather) 7. Costumer Roles along the route – High fiving huskies, Partying Penguins and Hugging Polar bears

Volunteer shifts will be a maximum of 8 hours between 07:00 to 15:00 but most will be much shorter.
