parkrun Volunteer

Thames Path parkrun, Woolwich

parkrun volunteers - marshalling, timekeeping, scanning people's barcodes, meeting new people in a welcoming environment, only commit a week at a time.

Detailed Description

Thames Path parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k parkrun for all ages and abilities. Every Saturday at 9am by Woolwich Pier. We need about 25 volunteers each week, around half of whom can also run. You can marshal and cheer (you will get lots of thank yous back) and you can also timekeep, and manage the finishers. You only need to commit one week at a time (approx 8.30-10 am) it's a lovely welcoming community, many people head to Woolwich Works for a coffee afterwards, it's good for those that need exercise and for those that want company and to meet people locally.

Why these skills are required

No skills needed, those under 11 need an adult with them, those under 18 need to do a finish area role where there are others around. All roles can be taught in about 2 minutes and can be found listed by scrolling down on this page https://volunteer.parkrun.com/principles/volunteer-roles

What is in it for you

8.30-10 am on Saturday mornings. Just email us a few days before to say you wish to come that week.
